The Sierra Club - Lancaster Group Polar Bear 5K Trail Run/Hike is scheduled for Saturday, January 10, 2026, in Lancaster, PA. The course is a trail route through Lancaster County Central Park on well-maintained trails with some hills. Weather in January may produce mud, snow, or ice on the course; trekking poles and micro spikes are allowed. The event is chip timed with instant results at the finish.

Registration, awards and rules

Registration details include an early bird fee of $30 through December 25, and a standard fee of $35 for registrations after December 25, including race day. Online registration closes January 2; packet pick-up on Friday and race day registration are available. Race shirts are available as a $25 add-on and shirt orders are guaranteed only for registrations completed by December 5. A finishers award is included with entry.

Prizes are awarded to the top 3 overall male and female runners, the top 3 dogs with humans, and the top 3 male and female finishers in each age group (9 & under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+). A shuttle is provided from the parking lot to the starting area. Key rules: bibs must be worn on the front and kept flat, follow the marked course, do not litter, dogs must be leashed and cleaned up after, and there are no refunds, deferrals, or bib transfers.
