Great Marsh Mud Mosey
The Great Marsh Mud Mosey is an annual event held on private property in Northern Chester County. The course travels through a working farm in Elverson, Pennsylvania, featuring a landscape of farmland, wooded boundaries, and marsh ponds. Participants traverse varied terrain, including a muddy section near the middle of the route and a final mile on a grassy surface.
The event offers two distinct participation options:
- 3.2 Miles: A trail race described as a "5K-ish" run.
- 1 Mile: A walking-only event passing through farmlands and ponds.
Post-race activities take place near the barns and include food such as pulled pork and pizza, along with beverages from local providers. Entertainment is provided by a DJ. Educational opportunities are available after the race, including demonstrations by search dogs and informative sessions with environmental biologists regarding the local flora and fauna.
The event occurs regardless of rain or sun. Because the venue is an active working farm and search animals are present on-site, personal pets are not permitted. Registration is limited to 120 participants across both categories. Profits from the event are donated to the Great Marsh Institute and local search dog organizations.
