South Mountain ThrowDown Lite

South Mountain ThrowDown Lite is a 10 hour trail event on April 25, 2026, held at South Mountain YMCA property in Reinholds, PA, at 201 Cushion Peak Road. The event is presented as a smaller, grassroots test run for a planned 24 hour event in the future. Participation is limited to 100 runners and a $15 fee covers property use, basic aid, and logistics. There will be no awards and the event is described as minimal in production; aid will be available and pacers are not permitted this year. Camping is not offered for this edition.

The course is a short, repeatable loop beginning at the old carriage house and using Peak Side trails. Surfaces include dirt, grass, and gravel. Each loop includes one substantial climb that reaches the Cushion Peak overlook, followed by a gravel road section returning to the old fountain steps and the start and finish area. The loop measures approximately 2.5 miles with about 660 feet of climb.

Spectators are welcome and there is space at the start and finish area for pop ups and crews. Non-racing visitors can walk to the Cushion Peak overlook or use nearby recreation on the property such as frisbee golf. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
