Shore AC Adult Cross Country Series
The Shore Athletic Club organizes a six-week fall adult cross country series in Monmouth County. The series comprises six 5K races held on Saturdays in October and November at the following parks: Big Brook Park (October 3), Wolf Hill Park (October 10), Holmdel Park (October 17), Tatum Park (October 24), Huber Woods Park (October 31) and Thompson Park (November 7). Races run rain or shine.
Each meeting features a 5K race with team, age group and individual scoring and series prizes. Event-day registration is available and pre-registration through RunSignUp is encouraged. Fees are listed as $50 for the full series of six races or $10 per race.
Team championship scoring is based on a team’s best four weeks. Teams must field at least three male and three female finishers to qualify for team scoring. Traditional cross country scoring applies, with one point deducted for the first male and female masters in the 40s, 50s, 60s and 70s age groups. Individual age group awards are given to the first male and female in Open, 40s, 50s, 60s and 70s based on best four finishes. Awards are presented after the final race.
