Serpent Trail Ultra Run
This is a guided 30 mile trail run starting and finishing in Haslemere, Surrey on Sunday 29 November 2026. The route uses sections of the Serpent Trail and the Sussex Border Path and passes through a mix of fields, ancient woodland, heathland and valleys.
The run includes a route toward Blackdown with a stop at the Temple of the Winds lookout for views of the South Downs. Participants follow the Serpent Trail at several points, travel south across fields and ancient woodland, then head west across rare heathland and through varied trails before returning to Haslemere. A short refreshment break is planned en route.
The event is organised as a group run rather than a race and is led by an experienced trail and ultra runner who will look after navigation and offer running guidance. Organisers recommend participants have completed at least 22 miles in training and be able to sustain an average pace of about 10 minutes per mile (6 minutes per kilometre) on trail for prolonged periods. Meeting location has nearby car parks and is a short run or taxi ride from the train station. Entry cost is £45 per person. At the finish participants may receive an alcohol free beer subject to availability. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
