Serpent Trail Ultra Run : Haslemere, Surrey

This is a guided trail run of 30 miles starting and finishing in Haslemere. The route follows sections of the Serpent Trail and the Sussex Border Path and includes a mixture of heathland, ancient woodland, fields and valley trails. Participants pass the Temple of the Winds lookout near Blackdown with views toward the South Downs.

The route may be hilly. The run is led by an experienced ultra runner, mountain leader, qualified guide and coach who manages the route and offers advice during the day. The format is non-competitive and group based; steeper climbs are often hiked and the group regroups regularly. Participants are advised to have completed at least 22 miles in training and to be comfortable maintaining an average trail pace of about 10 min/mile (6:15 min/km) for prolonged periods. Faster runners should expect a more social pace at times.

A full kit list will be provided to participants. A short refreshment break is planned on route. Transport options include nearby car parks and a train station within a short run or taxi ride. A complimentary alcohol free beer may be available at the finish subject to availability. Entry for the event is priced at £45 per person.
