Serious Santa - A War of Attrition

Hosted in the Black Mountains within the Brecon Beacons National Park, this trail running event offers three distinct distances starting from Cwmdu Village Hall near Crickhowell. Participants navigate technical terrain including rocky paths, boggy moorland, narrow single-track trails, and forest sections. The event features updated routes for the series, taking runners west toward Bwlch Mountain and along the Beacons Way.

• Turkey Ten Miles
• Figgy Pudding 14 km

The courses involve significant elevation with steep climbs and descents across mountain ridges. The Half Marathon route follows Cockit Hill, providing views of the lake and central Beacons before climbing back toward Cefn Moel. The Turkey Ten Miles and Figgy Pudding 14 km follow the same initial upward path before turning back.

An 8-hour cut-off time is in place for all events. Mandatory kit is required for all participants, including a waterproof jacket and trousers, race vest, base layer, 1-litre fluid capacity, food, map or GPX file, telephone, hat, gloves, trail shoes, first aid kit, and a foil blanket. This is a cup-free event; participants must bring their own reusable cups. Facilities include parking for a fee, toilets, medical support, and refuel zones with nutrition and refreshments.

Finishers receive a bespoke medal, mince pies, and mulled wine. Hand-crafted slate trophies are awarded to the top three male and female finishers, as well as winners in the over 50 and over 60 veteran categories. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
