Scilly60% - The Marathon
Scilly60% - The Marathon is a 42 km multi island trail running event held from Porth Mellon in the Isles of Scilly, United Kingdom. The route crosses four offshore islands - St Martin’s, Tresco, Bryher and St Agnes - and finishes with about 5 km on St Marys. Routes are professionally marked and include full circumnavigations of the four islands before the final run on St Marys.
The event is organised as a self sufficient race. Competitors must start with 3 litres of water in their boat bag and are expected to carry their own food, drink and kit for each stage. There are no energy stations en route; a race first aider is based at the start and finish quay of each island. Cut off times are based on a pace of 8 minutes 30 seconds per kilometre.
Logistics include tidal aware boat transfers between islands and a support boat. Runners who miss a boat or the cut off will be taken to the next island on the support boat but will not be able to continue racing. Distances and the course may be adjusted closer to the date because of erosion or tidal constraints.
Entry for the September 2026 running is limited on the booking site. Initially 75 places are available and the organiser may increase total entries to 150 if demand requires. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
