Trail Running Along the River Wear

The Dun Holm Challenge - Day 2 takes place in the historic city of Durham, with the event hub located at the Durham Amateur Rowing Club. This event follows a trail course along a scenic stretch of the River Wear, offering views of Durham Cathedral. The route is fully signed, requiring no previous navigational experience. Participants of all abilities are welcome, including walkers.

Flexible Distance Options

This event is formatted as a 7-hour time challenge, allowing participants to control their own distance. Runners can complete as many or as few laps as they wish within the time limit. A single full lap is typically 4.37 miles (7km), though a 3.28 mile course may be used depending on local conditions. The minimum distance considered a finished result is 5km. The race headquarters provides access to toilets and changing facilities. An unstaffed bag drop area is available near the start and finish line.
