Event format and distances
This is a 7 hour timed event where participants choose how many laps to run. The minimum distance is 3 km. A regular lap is 7 km (4.37 miles) and may be changed to a 3.28 mile loop if course conditions require. A 3 km turn point and a 5 km turn point are provided within the lap to allow compliance with age rules. Distances noted include:
- Half marathon = 3 laps
- Marathon = 6 laps
- Ultra = 7 laps or more
- 50 km option available
Minimum age is 12 years. Runners aged 18 or 19 may run up to 45 km; anyone running over 45 km must be at least 20 years old.
Course, facilities and entry details
The course runs along a stretch of the River Thames and is fully signed. Surfaces are mainly well made paths and tarmac with a short grass section; road shoes are suitable. Aid and drinks tables are at the start/finish of each lap with savoury, sweet, fruit, cheese and vegan items. Participants who complete at least 3 km receive a finisher medal and a goody bag; a vegan goody bag option is available. Distance pins are issued for half-marathon, mega-half, marathon, 50 km and ultra distances. Toilets and changing facilities are at race headquarters, which also has a cafe. Bag drop is unmanned and items are left at the participant’s risk. Parking is in a pay-on-exit car park at Runnymede Pleasure Grounds. Maximum entries 300; entries close 02/07/2026.
