SATURN - GNR & Time Turner 2026 - Durham

This is a seven hour timed running event held on Sunday 30 August 2026 at Durham Amateur Rowing Club, Green Ln, Old Elvet, Durham DH1 3JU. The event uses a signed trail course along the River Wear with views of the Cathedral.

The format allows runners to choose their own distance. The minimum distance is 3 km. A full lap is listed as 4.37 miles (7 km) but may change to a 3.28 mile loop depending on course conditions. There are 3 km and 5 km turn points within the lap to help younger runners meet UK Athletics distance rules.

Finishers who complete at least 3 km receive a themed medal. Distance pins are issued for half-marathon, mega-half, marathon, 50 km and ultra distances. A goody bag is provided to finishers with a vegan option. Aid and drinks tables are available at the start and finish of each lap with vegan snacks.

Facilities include toilets and changing. Bag storage is provided but unstaffed and at the participant's risk. Parking is nearby on-street or pay and display. Number pick up is on the day at registration. Headphones are allowed. The event is held on public footpaths so runners should be considerate of other users.

Entry limits and rules: maximum 300 entrants, entries close 29/08/2026, minimum age 12 years. Anyone wishing to run over 45 km must be at least 20 years old; 18 and 19 year olds may run up to 45 km. A flat, two lap five mile trail race in Ashington on 21 July 2026 with an entry limit of 125, affiliated and unaffiliated pricing, prizes and finisher gifts.

An evening trail event at Aske Hall near Richmond featuring 5km, 10km and a 5km walk across pasture, farm tracks and woodland. The single lap course is marked and may be muddy; basic facilities and a water station are provided.

A social trail run in the Derwent Valley with 5k and 10k route options, followed by coffee and good craic at the Land Of Oak & Iron Cafe on 26 July 2026.

The Woodham Burn 5k will take place in Newton Aycliffe on Wednesday 29 July 2026. You can run 5 kilometers.
