SAS ENDURANCE September 2026
SAS ENDURANCE is a navigational endurance march held at Talybont Reservoir Layby, Talybont-on-Usk, Merthyr Tydfil (LD3 7YS) on 4 and 5 September 2026. The route follows the same march used in UKSF selection and covers high peaks in South Wales.
There are two main route options and guided group choices:
- 64 km full SAS route across the highest peaks in South Wales
- 32 km half route finishing at Cray Reservoir approximately 32 km
Unless taking a guided group, participants on self-navigation entries must demonstrate map and compass competence. Accepted evidence includes attendance at a land navigation weekend provided by the organiser, a one-to-one navigation course, or equivalent proof submitted to the organiser.
The event route is marshalled in designated areas. Water will be available at checkpoints. A medic team and Mountain Safety Detachment staff will operate across the route. Several checkpoint cut off times will be announced during the event brief; these times depend on weather and ground conditions. Organiser staff have authority to stop participants at checkpoints if they are considered unfit to continue.
Ticket categories include self-navigation and DS led guided options for both full and half distances. Further event details are provided in the joining instructions and the organiser information. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
