Race Overview

The San Joaquin River Trail event offers multiple distances on trails located along Millerton Lake and the San Joaquin River. The event base is situated at the South Finegold Picnic Area in Friant, California. This location serves as both the starting and finishing point for all participants.

Course Distances

The event features three distinct trail running distances:

  • 10k
  • 25k
  • 50k

Logistics and Support

All participants must collect their race packets and check in on the day of the event at the start area. There are no race day entries permitted. For the longer distances, support includes aid stations positioned approximately every five miles along the path. These stations provide water, sports drinks, gels, fruit, and snacks.

Runners in the 50k category have access to additional support options. Pacers may join these participants starting at mile 16, located at the San Joaquin River Gorge/Aid Station. Crew access is available at mile 14.5 near the Ya Gub Weh Tuh Campground. Runners in the ultra-distance category may also utilize drop bags, which are transported to the San Joaquin River Gorge Management Area.

Facilities and Access

Parking is available at the South Finegold Picnic Area, reached by following Sky Harbour Road until it ends. While no camping is allowed directly at the start and finish area, campsites can be found on the North side of Millerton Lake or near the San Joaquin River Gorge. Join the SJVDHA for their annual Pacing for Prevention 5K, supporting oral cancer research. Walk or run a paved, scenic trail that welcomes strollers and dogs. Connect with health professionals and participate in wellness activities.

Experience an annual 5k mud run and obstacle course at Hobb's Grove in Sanger. This all ages event features dedicated waves for adults and families to navigate the muddy terrain together.
