SAR Wild Run

SAR Wild Run is a mountain trail event and fundraiser supporting the Fresno County Sheriff's Search & Rescue Team. It takes place on 08/09/2026 near Dinkey Creek Road on the south side of Shaver Lake, at about 5,400 feet elevation. The venue address is 41344 Tollhouse Rd, Shaver Lake, CA 93664.

Event options include:

  • Trail Half Marathon - 13.1 Miles
  • 10K Trail Run - 10 kilometers
  • 5K Trail Wild Run - 5 kilometers
  • 2 Mile Hike - family friendly
  • Virtual - run on your own course

Course notes: the Half Marathon uses portions of the 5K and 10K courses and then follows additional trails toward Dorabella in a loop to rejoin the 10K route. The 5K begins with a descent to the water's edge and includes a roughly mile long, 200 foot high scramble of switchbacks along a mountainside. The 2 Mile Hike leads to the water's edge and is described as family friendly but not stroller friendly.

The virtual option is completed at the participant's chosen time and location; those results are not official and are not posted. Organizers will mail a finisher's medallion and event shirt within two weeks after the event. Registration fees vary by event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
