Since 2009 the Park Foundation of Waukesha, Inc. has hosted the event as a fundraiser to support city parks, trails, recreation programs, and the urban forest. In 2023 Silver Circle Sports Events, LLC began managing event operations under an agreement with the Park Foundation. Over $200,000 raised through Trailbreaker events has been reinvested with the Parks, Recreation, and Forestry Department. Trail runs nearby

A trail running event on June 20, 2026, near Rice Lake in Whitewater, Wisconsin, using an out and back section of the Ice Age Trail. Routes range from 10K to 50K and include varied footing from smooth to technical.

A prairie trail run and walk at Lapham Peak State Forest in Delafield supporting prairie management. The event features grass hiking and mountain bike trails, shirts for the first 100 participants, awards for run winners, and on-site regist..

A 10K walk/run on August 1, 2026, through the Nordic Trail System in Kettle Moraine State Forest with water refill stations, trail snacks, a cup-less policy, and donations supporting The Salvation Army.
