Event overview
The Trailbreaker is scheduled for March 29, 2026 in Waukesha, WI at Schuetze Recreation Center, 1120 Baxter Street. The event has been held annually since 1993 and has been hosted by the Park Foundation of Waukesha, Inc. since 2009. Silver Circle Sports Events, LLC manages the race under a long-term agreement begun in 2023. Proceeds support city parks, trails, recreation programs, and the urban forest; over $200,000 has previously been generated and reinvested.

The Kiddos 1K has a $5 entry fee; participants receive a race bib and a finisher medal and registration is required. The RAD provides timing, course support, swag, and snacks but does not include age-group awards.
Course, services, and logistics
The Marathon uses the Glacial Drumlin Trail course and is USATF certified. The route includes approximately 6 miles of city streets and sidewalks and 20 miles of paved trails, including the Fox River Trail and the Glacial Drumlin Trail, and passes through Frame Park, Veterans Park, Grede Park, Bethesda Park, and the Fox River Sanctuary. Aid stations are located approximately every 2 miles at Trail & MacArthur, Trail & Les Paul Highway, Trail & Waukesha DT, Trail & Mickle Road, and Trail & Waterville Road. Packet pickup requires participants to present their registration receipt QR code on a mobile device or as a saved image. Pets are not allowed. Finisher awards and participant keepsakes are wooden pieces produced by Ridgeway Woodworks. Rucking events are new for 2026 and involve walking or hiking with a weighted backpack.
