Event overview

The Born to Be Wild run takes place on January 31, 2026, at McGuffey Nature Center located at the Coweta County Fairgrounds, 275 Pine Road, Newnan, GA 30263. The event is organized by Sole Roots Racing, Coweta County, and the Southern Conservation Trust. Proceeds support conservation advocacy, land conservation, and wildlife protection in the local community. The event features the SCT mascot Flint the River Otter; each registered child may choose a Flint plushie or an event T-shirt.

Packet pickup is provided and an awards ceremony will be held after the races (time listed as approximate). Awards are given to overall male and female finishers and to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers in age groups: 10 & under; 11-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70+. There is a Masters category for 40+.

  • Early (Oct 9 - Dec 15): 5K $35, 10K $45, Fun Run $20
  • Regular (Dec 16 - Jan 24): 5K $40, 10K $50, Fun Run $20
  • Late/Race Week (Jan 25 - Jan 31): 5K $50, 10K $60, Fun Run $20
