Event details

The Born to Be Wild event is scheduled for January 31, 2026, at McGuffey Nature Center in the Coweta County Fairgrounds, 275 Pine Road, Newnan, GA 30263. Organizers listed are the Southern Conservation Trust in partnership with Sole Roots Racing and Coweta County. The event raises funds to support conservation advocacy, land conservation, and wildlife protection in the local community. The event features the SCT mascot Flint the River Otter and offers an activity for children.

Packet pickup is offered on the day of the event. An awards ceremony will be held after the races.

Registration and awards

Registration is open in three windows with associated fees:

• Early Registration: October 9 - December 15 : 5K $35, 10K $45, Fun Run $20.
• Regular Registration: December 16 - January 24 : 5K $40, 10K $50, Fun Run $20.
• Late/Race Week Registration: January 25 - January 31 : 5K $50, 10K $60, Fun Run $20.

To be guaranteed an event T-shirt, registration must be completed by December 31, 2025. Each registered child may choose either a Flint plush toy or an event T-shirt.

Awards include overall male and female finishers and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in these age groups: 10 & under; 11-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70+; and Masters 40+. The event lists multiple partners and sponsors. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
