Born to be Wild 5K, 10K, and Fun Run

The Born to be Wild event takes place at the McGuffey Nature Center within the Coweta County Fairgrounds in Newnan, Georgia. Organized by the Southern Conservation Trust in partnership with Sole Roots Racing and Coweta County, the event serves as a fundraiser to support conservation advocacy, land preservation, and wildlife protection.

Participants can choose from several distance options:

  • 10K
  • 5K
  • 1-mile Fun Run

The event is designed to be family-friendly and participants are permitted to dress up as their favorite Southern Conservation Trust mascot. Registered children have the choice between an event T-shirt or a plush toy of Flint the otter, the official mascot. The 5K and 10K races feature an awards ceremony with categories for overall male and female finishers, as well as first, second, and third-place awards for multiple age groups ranging from 10 and under to 70 and over, including a Masters 40+ category.

The races are conducted rain or shine at the fairgrounds. In the event that conditions are deemed unsafe for participants and volunteers, registrations are converted into tax-deductible donations. The course is located at 275 Pine Road. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
