Run The Maine takes place at Camp Reserve in Castlemaine, Victoria on 25 September 2026. The event program includes a point to point half marathon, a 10 km forest loop and a 5 km out-and-back run through the town's botanical gardens.
The half marathon runs from Maldon to Castlemaine and follows sections of the historic Goldfields Steam Train route. The course moves through dense woodland, open paddocks and uses well made fire trails and paths. Runners are transported by steam train to the race start for the half marathon.
The 10 km Walmer Forest Loop climbs out of Castlemaine into Walmer Forest, follows two creeks at either end, and rejoins the longer route into town. The 5 km Botanical Gardens Return is an almost flat out-and-back route inside Castlemaine's historic botanical gardens.
