Event overview

Grainger Legal Run The Maine returns for its 17th edition on 26 September 2025 at Camp Reserve, Castlemaine, Victoria. The event supports local health services and, over the last 16 years, has donated over $255,000 to Dhelkaya Health. Title partner is Grainger Legal and the event is organised by Team RTM.

Courses and registration

The event program includes the following distances:

  • 21 km Half Marathon - point-to-point from Maldon to Castlemaine, following the historic Goldfields Steam Train route.
  • 10 km - Walmer Forest Loop, includes a climb out of Castlemaine and two creek sections.
  • 5 km - Botanical Gardens Return, an almost flat out-and-back in Castlemaine’s botanical gardens.

The half marathon offers a steam train transfer to the start; a Maldon start option is also available without the train, in which case participants must make their own way to the start and collect bibs from Castlemaine beforehand. Registration categories include standard and concession pricing and staged pricing periods (super early bird, early bird, standard). Early-bird registration is open until 22 August 2025.
