Run Rock Creek 5K/10K
Run Rock Creek 5K/10K is organized by Rock Creek Conservancy and takes place in Rock Creek Park on May 2, 2026, at Picnic Grove #24 near the Rock Creek Tennis Center in Washington, DC. The event offers two race distances:
- 5 km 5K Run/Walk
- 10 km 10K Run
Race grounds entrance and parking are at 4850 Colorado Ave NW, close to the Rock Creek Tennis Center and Carter Barron Amphitheater. The course will be open for a total of 90 minutes and participants should be able to complete their chosen distance within that timeframe.
Water stations are positioned at the 1 and 2 mile markers for the 5K, and at the 1, 2, 3, and 4 mile markers for the 10K. Restrooms are located at Picnic Grove 24. For safety, no pets, strollers, baby joggers, rollerblades, skateboards, or bicycles are allowed on the race course; dogs on leash are permitted in the start and finish area and at the adjacent playground.
The day includes instructor-led warmups, park ranger guided walking tours, an awards ceremony with overall and age group prizes, and a post-race community forum. Registration fees support park restoration and care, and participant feedback will guide future park improvements. Packet pickup is available on Friday, May 1, or on the morning of the race.
