Run for the River 5K and Polar Plunge : February 21, 2026

The event takes place on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Camp Kiwanis, 2613 Old Wildcat Bridge Road, Danielsville, GA 30633. It includes a 5K trail run with an optional river polar plunge and a separate group polar plunge only option. Entry fees listed are $35 for the 5K (reduced to $20 for ages 1-17) and $25 for the group polar plunge only. Registration closes February 18, 2026. Proceeds support the Broad River Watershed Association's water quality monitoring program.

Course, logistics and awards

The course runs through bottomland and upland forests and follows the Broad River and Blue Stone Creek, with an uphill section that provides vistas of the river valley. Walkers are welcome and a shorter walking loop is available for those who do not want to complete the full 5K. The course is subject to change based on weather. T-shirts are available to registrants who sign up on or before January 6, 2025, with additional shirts offered while supplies last. Custom awards will be presented for overall male and female, masters male and female, and in 10-year age groups from "10 and Under" up to "80 and Over."
