Participants can choose between two events:

  • 5K Trail Run and Optional Polar Plunge: This event includes a 5K trail run with an optional group plunge into the Broad River afterwards. Registration is $35 ($20 for ages 1-17) and closes on February 18, 2026.
  • Group Polar Plunge Only: This option is for those who wish to only participate in the group plunge. Registration is $25 and also closes on February 18, 2026.

Course and Location

The 5K trail run takes place on a privately-owned farm managed for conservation. The route starts and finishes along the banks of the Broad River and travels through meadows, hardwood forest, and long-leaf pine areas. The farm features a beach on the river where the optional group polar plunge occurs. The location for 2026 is 1261 Seymour Road in Bowman.

Additional Information

Walkers are welcome for the run. Proceeds from the event support the Broad River Watershed Association's water quality monitoring program. The event schedule includes race-day registration and packet pickup, the run, the group plunge, and an awards ceremony. Awards are given to overall male and female finishers, masters male and female, and across multiple age groups. T-shirts are available to runners who register by a specified date, subject to availability. The course map is available online and may change due to weather.
