Run for the Acorns - Genesee County Park and Forest

Run for the Acorns is the 14th annual trail event held on October 4, 2026, at Genesee County Park and Forest in East Bethany, New York. The event offers off-road running on forest trails that pass along a creek and through open countryside.

The courses use single and double track trails with rolling hills. The 10K loop has an estimated 100 feet of climb. Trails are described as very wide and easy to negotiate; rocks and roots are clearly marked for safety. Each course begins on asphalt before leading into the woods.

Distances offered:

  • 10K Run, 6.2 miles
  • 5K Run/Walk, 3.1 miles

Registration opens June 16, 2026 and closes September 27, 2026. The listed registration fee is $30.00 for the events shown.

All proceeds benefit ACORNS, a non-profit 501(c)(3) friends of the park group that supports Genesee County parks through outdoor learning and education. A portion of the event proceeds will be donated to support breast cancer research. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
