Rosaryville Veterans Day Trail Race
The Annapolis Striders organize a trail running event at Rosaryville State Park in Upper Marlboro, MD, offering two distances on a 9.5-mile single track perimeter trail. The event is limited to 250 participants and includes on-course aid and support.
Distances:
- 50K (approximately 3.25 loops of the 9.5-mile perimeter trail)
- 20K (approximately 1.25 loops of the 9.5-mile perimeter trail)
The course is mostly deep woods and buffed single track with rolling hills; the 50K accumulates roughly 2600 feet of elevation gain. The route is well marked with white pie plates and white confidence ribbons. There are two aid stations on the loop and a designated drop bag area near the trail that is a short walk from the start/finish pavilion. Drop bags will be available at about the 5k, 20k, and 35k points and will not be covered.
Race policies include time limits of 8 hours for the 50K and 7 hours for the 20K, a requirement to reach the bag drop/trail exit point for the final lap by the published cutoff time, and restrictions on headphones, pets, and baby joggers. Packet pickup is on race morning at the pavilion. Awards are given to top finishers overall and to top military runners in each distance.
Postrace provisions include food service, fire pits, music, and yard games. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
