Rosaryville Veterans Day Trail Race

The Annapolis Striders stage a trail running event at Rosaryville State Park in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. Distances offered include:

  • 50K
  • 20K

The courses use the park's 9.5 mile perimeter single track and meadows. The 50K is roughly 3.25 loops of the perimeter trail and accumulates about 2600 feet of elevation gain. The 20K covers about 1.25 loops. Most of the route runs through deep woods on largely buffed single track that is not highly technical, with rolling hills and natural trail obstacles such as roots and rocks.

The course is marked with white pie plates and white confidence ribbons. There are two staffed aid stations on the trail and a designated drop bag area located a short walk from the start/finish pavilion; runners have access to their drop bags at approximately the 5k, 20k, and 35k points. The drop bag area is not covered.

The event is limited to 250 participants and enforces time limits of eight hours for the 50K and seven hours for the 20K, with a cutoff at the bag drop before the final full loop. Race rules prohibit headphones, pets, and baby joggers. Parking is included with registration.

Awards go to the top three male and female finishers and top male and female military finishers in each distance. Post race offerings include hot food, fire pits, music, and yard games. The organizer maintains volunteer opportunities and posts event updates on social channels. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
