2026 Georgetown Turkey Trot 5k
The Georgetown Turkey Trot is a 5k running event held in Georgetown, Washington, D.C., with the start/finish near 3530 Water St NW. The 5k course runs along the C&O Canal on a light gravel dirt road with minimal elevation change and is an out-and-back route. Walkers and strollers are welcome.
The event is chip timed. Runners receive a finisher’s medal and a long-sleeved technical Drifit event shirt; shirts are guaranteed for participants registered before November 11. Packet pickup is available at the event, and there will be no on-site race registration.
One water station is provided on the 5k course at approximately mile 1.5; Gatorade is available at some water stations on longer distances. Port-a-johns are located near the check-in and registration area.
The race awards the top three men and top three women overall, and first and second place male and female in the following age categories: 19 & Under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. Runners who place in the top three overall are not eligible to also win their age group.
This event awards series points toward the Year-Long 5k Series, the Back of the Pack Series, and the Fall Series. A virtual run option is offered for participants who cannot attend in person.
