2026 Georgetown Turkey Trot 5k
The Georgetown Turkey Trot is a community running event held in Georgetown near the C&O Canal in Washington, DC. The course runs along the C&O Canal on a light gravel dirt road with minimal elevation change and is an out-and-back route. Walkers and strollers are permitted.

The event includes chip timing, a finisher's medal, and a long sleeve technical Drifit event shirt. Shirts are guaranteed for participants who register before November 11; additional shirts may be available afterward on a first-come, first-served basis. Live race results will be posted on Athlinks and final results with series points are published the Monday after the race. A QR code at the event provides immediate access to live results. Runner tracking by SMS is offered during registration.
Water and on-course services include one water station on the 5k at about mile 1.5 and three water stations on the 10k at approximately miles 1.5, 3.1, and 4.65; Gatorade may be available at some stations. Portable restrooms are located near the check-in area. Packet pickup occurs at the event and organizers recommend arriving about one hour before the event to check in.
The race awards the top three men and women overall and age group awards across multiple categories. Points earned count toward the Year-Long 5k and Back of the Pack series as well as a Fall Series.
