Roots & Ruts Off-Road 5K Benefiting Els for Autism®

The Roots & Ruts Off-Road 5K is a fundraiser held on April 18, 2026, to support individuals and families affected by autism and to highlight autism awareness, acceptance, and inclusion. The event is based at The Els Center of Excellence in Jupiter, Florida, and the main 5K course runs through the North Jupiter Flatwoods Natural Area, the first certified autism-friendly trail in Florida. The preserve is a 160-acre area composed of mesic flatwoods, wet flatwoods, depression marsh, and dome swamp ecosystems.

Packet pickup is located at the Big Easy Cafe by Ernie Els in the Adult Services Building on The Els Center of Excellence campus, with pickup available on April 15, April 16, and April 17. The Sensory-Friendly Obstacle Course, held at The Els Center of Excellence, features obstacles that involve jumping, balancing, water, and crawling. A disposable timing tag will be affixed to each race bib and net timing will be recorded by AccuChipUSA. Strollers and pets are not permitted in the North Jupiter Flatwoods. Parking directors will assist attendees when entering the campus gates. The event also includes a post-race expo with vendor booths, food from the Big Easy Cafe, activities, and race awards.
