Rocky's 5K

Rocky's 5K is a running event held at the Rockefeller State Park Preserve in Pleasantville, New York. The course takes place on the historic system of wide carriage roads within the park. The route features varied terrain, including woodlands, rolling pastures, and sections near Swan Lake.

Available distances include:

  • 5 km (Standard)
  • 5 km (Youth - ages 12 and under)

The course includes hills, such as the section on David's Loop, and is well-marked with volunteers stationed throughout. The start and finish area is located by Swan Lake, which is a short walk from the main parking entrance at 125 Phelps Way.

The event offers several competition categories, including individual age groups and a unique team competition. Teams of two can compete in all-male, all-female, coed, and coed century (where the combined age of both participants is at least 100) categories.

Participants receive t-shirts and have access to refreshments and vendor stations near the finish. Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers, as well as winners in specific age groups. While there is no official bag drop, parking is located close to the course. All proceeds from the race are dedicated to the maintenance and restoration of the park's carriage roads. Jogging strollers and dogs are not permitted on the course.
