Rocky Mountain Lobo Invitational : Spring Canyon Park, Fort Collins, CO
The Rocky Mountain Lobo Invitational is a cross country meet held at Spring Canyon Park on South Overland Trail in Fort Collins. The event features seven races contested on a true cross country course that uses grass and dirt trails with minimal sidewalk crossings.
Races cover community and school divisions. The high school program runs a 5K on the cross country course. The community 5K uses the same course as the high school races. A lower distance option is offered for middle school athletes as a 1.5 mile race.
The community 5K includes a team competition where groups of five or more are scored like a traditional cross country meet. Registration for the community 5K and the middle school race includes a t shirt. The event schedule stages varsity and junior varsity 5K races as well as separate middle school boys and girls races.
The meet is described as spectator friendly and useful for coaches taking splits. All proceeds from the event support Rocky Mountain High School Cross Country. Local organizations and businesses are listed as sponsors and a nonprofit offering self defense classes is highlighted as a community partner.
