Lory Summer Trail Series

The Lory Summer Trail Series is a four‑week set of trail races held in August 2026 at Lory State Park, Eltuck Picnic Area, Fort Collins, Colorado. The series is presented as a low‑key set of shorter midweek trail races intended to introduce newer trail runners to racing and to provide opportunities for faster efforts on shorter courses.

Races occur on August 4, 11, 18 and 25, 2026. Course profiles vary by date with approximate elevation gain as published: August 4 Valley 5K about 250 feet, August 11 Hills 10K about 1,700 feet, August 18 Hills 5K about 700 feet, and August 25 Valley 12K about 500 feet.

Registration details include an opening date of December 15, 2025. Early pricing through June 30 is listed as $25 per race or $80 for the series; after July 1 pricing is $30 per race or $100 for the series. Ages 17 and under have a special price of $10 per race applied automatically at checkout. A 75% race transfer credit may be offered for future Gnar Runners races and transfers are possible up to 72 hours before a race. Entries are otherwise non‑refundable and non‑transferable; if a race is cancelled for extreme or unforeseeable events refunds or credits will not be offered.

Facilities and rules note no on‑course aid, two permanent toilets at the start and finish, additional park restrooms along courses, parking at the Eltuck Picnic Area with overflow to Spur Road, bib pickup at the race start with chips pre‑attached, prohibition on dogs on course, and standard trail etiquette and litter rules. After each race participants are offered pizza and beverages with support from local partners; vintage shirts and end‑of‑series awards for top points scorers are provided.
