Lory Summer Trail Series

Lory Summer Trail Series (August 4, 11, 18, 25, 2026)

The series is four midweek trail races held at Lory State Park, Eltuck Picnic Area, Fort Collins, Colorado. Distances offered across the series include:

• 5K
• 10K
• 12K

Registration for the 2026 series opened December 15, 2025. Early pricing through June 30 is $25 per race or $85 for the series; from July 1 onward the price is $30 per race or $100 for the series. Ages 17 and under are eligible for a reduced price of $10 per race; the price is applied automatically based on date of birth at checkout.

Each race follows a named course with distinct elevation gain: Flat and Fast Eltuck Valley (Valley 5K and Valley 12K) and Into the Hills Eltuck (Hilly 5K and Hilly 10K), with elevation gains noted by event. Chips are pre-attached to bibs and participants may reuse bibs for multiple races.

These events are no-frills trail races: there is no on-course aid. There are two permanent toilets at the start/finish and additional park restrooms located along each course at specified mile marks. Parking is at the Eltuck Picnic Area until filled, with overflow directed to nearby Spur Road.

After each race pizza and beverages are provided with support from the Fort Collins Running Club and New Belgium Brewing. Series awards are presented at the end to top points scorers. The organizer offers a 75 percent race transfer credit valid for 12 months; entries are otherwise non-refundable and non-transferable except for waitlist transfers. The event provides non-binary registration and results options; for awards non-binary runners will be eligible in their birth gender pool.
