Lory Summer Trail Series

Bellvue, United States • 4 Aug 2026

The Lory Summer Trail Series runs four midweek trail races at Lory State Park, Eltuck Picnic Area in Fort Collins, Colorado, during August 2026. Races range from shorter Valley courses to hillier routes and are scored as a series with points awarded for each race. Results are timed by chip and tabulated using chip times; chips are pre-attached to bibs and participants are asked to reuse bibs for subsequent races.

Distances in the series include:

  • 5 km (Valley and hilly variations)
  • 10 km
  • 12 km

One event, the Eltuck Valley 5k on August 4, is described as flat and fast and is capped at 125 registrants. After each race, pizza and beverages are provided with support from local partners. Vintage race shirts from previous events are available to registrants while supplies last. Awards are given at the end of the series to the top points scorers.

The series is no frills with no on-course aid. There are two permanent toilets at the start area and additional park restrooms at several points along the courses. Rules include staying on trail, no purposeful littering, no dogs on course, and no mechanical aids unless approved by race staff. If a vehicle lacks an annual Colorado State Parks pass, a day pass is required. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
