Lory Summer Trail Series

Lory Summer Trail Series : August 2026

The series is four midweek trail races on August 4, 11, 18 and 25, 2026 at Lory State Park, Eltuck Picnic Area, Fort Collins, Colorado. Distances range from 5K to 12K with varying elevation profiles. After each race, pizza and beverages will be provided with support from the Fort Collins Running Club and New Belgium Brewing. All participants may choose a free vintage shirt as available. Awards will be given at the end of the series to top points scorers. The event offers non-binary registration and results; for awards non-binary runners will be eligible in their birth gender pool.

Race distances

• August 4: 5K (250' elevation gain)
• August 11: 10K (1,700' elevation gain)
• August 18: 5K (700' elevation gain)
• August 25: 12K (500' elevation gain)

Logistics and policies

Pricing through 6/30 is $25 per race or $80 for the series; 7/1 and after is $30 per race or $100 for the series. Ages 17 and under: $10 per race. A 75% race transfer credit can be applied to future Gnar Runners races (valid 12 months); transfers may be requested up to 72 hours before each race. Entries are non-refundable and non-transferable except for waitlist transfers. If the race is cancelled for extreme events, no refunds or credits will be offered. There is no on-course aid. Two permanent toilets are at the start/finish and additional park restrooms are located along the courses. Dogs are not allowed on the course. Parking is at the Eltuck Picnic Area until filled, then at nearby Spur Road. A day park pass ($10) is required if a state parks pass is not held.
