Lory Summer Trail Series

Event overview

Eltuck Valley 5K is part of the Lory Summer Trail Series held at Lory State Park, Eltuck Picnic Area (708 Lodgepole Dr, Bellvue / Fort Collins, CO 80512). The series runs in August 2026 with four midweek trail races on August 5, 12, 19 and 26. Distances across the series range from 5k to 12k. Results are recorded by chip timing and series points are awarded; top series finishers receive awards. Registrants may choose a free vintage Gnar race shirt. After each race the organizer provides pizza and beverages with support from the Fort Collins Running Club and New Belgium Brewing.

Logistics and rules

Registration opened December 15, 2025. Pricing tiers listed are: through June 30 : $25 per race or $80 for the series; July 1 and after : $30 per race or $100 for the series. Special pricing of $10 per race applies for ages 17 and under. Transfer policy offers a 75% race transfer credit valid for 12 months; transfers to another race in the series are allowed up to 72 hours before a race. Entries are non-refundable and non-transferable except for waitlist transfers; no refunds or credits for cancellation due to extreme events.

Key course rules: no dogs on course, stay on the trail, no purposeful littering, no mechanical aids unless pre-approved, and standard yield/pass etiquette. There is no on-course aid. Two permanent toilets are at the start/finish; additional park restrooms are located along each course. Parking is at the Eltuck Picnic Area until full, then at the nearby Spur Road.
