Lory Summer Trail Series

The Lory Summer Trail Series is a four-race midweek trail series held in August 2026 at Lory State Park, Eltuck Picnic Area, near Fort Collins, Colorado. The series includes shorter trail races with measured distances and listed elevation changes.
- Aug 4: Flat and Fast Eltuck Valley 5k (250' elevation gain)
- Aug 11: Into the Hills Eltuck 5k (700' elevation gain)
- Aug 18: Into the Hills Eltuck 10k (1,700' elevation gain)
- Aug 25: Flat and Fast Eltuck Valley 12k (500' elevation gain)
Timing uses chip timing and series points are awarded for each race. Top series finishers receive awards at the end of the series. Vintage Gnar race shirts are available to registrants and pizza and beverages are provided after each race.
Entry windows and fees are set in advance: registration opens 12/15/2025 and closes 7/1/2026. Fee structure includes reduced pricing through 6/30, higher race and series fees after that date, and a special $10 per race price for ages 17 and under. The Eltuck Valley 5k has a registration cap of 125.
Courses are basic events with no on-course aid. There are permanent toilets at the start and finish and additional park restrooms at specified mile marks on each course. Parking is at the Eltuck Picnic Area until full, then directed to Spur Road. Participants without an annual Colorado State Parks pass must purchase a day pass.
