The River Thames Run takes place on Wednesday 31 December 2025 at Wraysbury Skiff and Punting Club, Riverside, Egham TW20 0AA. It is a six-hour timed event on a flat, multi-terrain out-and-back route along the River Thames. The main lap measures 3.28 miles and the course offers shorter and longer options based on lap choices.

  • 3.28 miles out-and-back lap
  • 5 km via an earlier turn point
  • 10 km by completing the 5 km lap twice
  • Longer distances up to ultramarathon length within the six-hour time limit

Facilities and rules

Toilet and changing facilities are available at the rowing club. There is no official baggage drop; bags may be left next to the start-finish area at participants’ own risk. Parking is available on site at Runnymede Pleasure Grounds for a fee. An aid table is provided at the end of each lap offering water, squash, fizzy drinks, and a variety of food. The event is licensed by the TRA and held under UKA Athletics rules. Participants are asked to be considerate to other users of the public footpath used by the event. Trail runs nearby

Support Hospice of St Francis at the Wild Christmas Charity Run, a guided 8km trail or 4km family walk from Church Farm Cafe. Enjoy a mince pie with entry, optional fancy dress and limited places so book early.

Run a scenic 50k through the Surrey Hills on a fully signed out and back trail with food stations and live timing. Friendly for newcomers to ultras yet rewarding for seasoned trail runners.
