Black Swamp Mud Run

The Black Swamp Mud Run is a 5k mud run held in Oak Harbor, Ohio, at 7870 W State Rte 163. The event is scheduled for August 22, 2026 and is organized around a course that features more than 20 obstacles.

Many obstacles offer two lines: a "challenge" side and an "Xtreme" side. The race is run in waves, and participants may see an overall completion time on race clocks even though no official times are recorded. With registration, participants receive an event T-shirt, a wristband, and a medal. Every participant will be awarded a medal and there are no age-group or gender awards.

Participants who register within the first four waves have the option to run the course a second time for an additional fee of $5; those who choose the second run receive a different wristband. Organizers plan multiple giveaways, raffles, and other activities to add to the event experience. The event works with several sponsors, including Ronald McDonald House Charities, and 10% of proceeds are designated for donation to Ronald McDonald House Charities.
