Red's Backyard Ultra

Kembla Grange, Australia • 25 Oct 2025

Red’s Backyard Ultra takes place on a NSW State Cross Country course in Kembla Grange, 1.5 hours south of Sydney. The event uses the backyard ultra format: runners complete a 6.7056 km loop every hour on the hour, with only one competitor remaining as the winner. Runners share a supportive, collaborative atmosphere even as they push personal limits; participants are rivals yet teammates.

The course is a trail and cross-country loop with roughly 35 feet of climb per loop. Competitors have a dedicated area to set up a personal aid station, and clubhouse canteen and bathroom facilities are available. The race tests body, mind, and soul.
