Red Rocks of Sedona Trail Races

Red Rocks of Sedona Trail Races take place in Sedona, AZ on Saturday, October 17, 2026. The event is a one-day point to point trail running race across Southside terrain, featuring red rock vistas and the Hi-Line Trail as a central route element.

The event offers multiple distances:

  • Mountain Marathon - 26.2-mile route across Sedona's Southside trails.
  • 20 Miler - a long course using the same core trails.
  • 10 Miler - a shorter course with technical sections and big views.
  • 2.5 Miler - a short out-and-back that starts and finishes at Verde Valley School.

The Mountain Marathon, 20 Miler and 10 Miler begin at United Methodist Church and finish at Verde Valley School. Courses traverse high desert slickrock, winding singletrack, exposed ridgelines and panoramic views of Cathedral Rock. Routes are fully marked and GPX files are provided for digital navigation.

Aid stations are available on course supplying water, electrolytes and energy snacks. All registered runners receive a technical race shirt and a commemorative medal. Shuttle service transports runners from the finish area to the start; no runner parking is allowed at the start and a shuttle pass is required.

The race is produced by Trail Running Escapes under permit from Coconino National Forest. Organizers work with local partners and stewardship groups to support trail preservation and encourage a leave no trace approach. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
