Red Rock Sunset Rumble - Topanga, CA - September 19, 2026

The Red Rock Sunset Rumble is a trail event held at Red Rock Canyon Park in Topanga. The main running option is a 10k course that features roughly 1,360 feet of vertical gain and loss and runs mostly on fireroads with about a half mile of singletrack. The route passes through oak forests and chaparral, across red sandstone cliffs and a seasonal creek, with views toward the Backbone Trail, Saddle Peak, Santa Monica and the Pacific Ocean. Two major climbs shape the course and a steep downhill leads to the finish. Aid stations for the 10k serve Skratch Hydration and water at about miles 1.8 and 3.6.

A non timed Hiker's Delight route provides an alternative with less vertical at approximately 4.5 miles and about 1,075 feet of gain and loss; it has an aid station at mile 2.27. The event site includes a beer garden for those 21 and over, a vegan friendly taco breakfast, sports massage services, finish line announcers and music, free course photography, sponsor giveaways, same day results and professional medical support. All SoCalTrail races are cupless.

No onsite parking is available on race day. Free off site parking and shuttle service operate from Topanga Canyon Boulevard and Topanga School Road; the race site is about a 0.6 mile walk from the shuttle drop off. Volunteers can earn race credits and receive event swag, meals, coffee and massage. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
