The Red Rock Sunset Rumble is a trail event at Red Rock Canyon Park in Topanga, California, organized by SoCalTrail. The main race is a 10k that runs roughly 90% on fireroads with about a half-mile of singletrack. The 10k course has approximately 1,360 ft of vertical gain and loss, two major climbs, and a downhill finish. Aid stations on the 10k serve Skratch Hydration and water at about miles 1.8 and 3.6.
A non-timed option called Hiker's Delight provides access to the same aid stations and event amenities. The Hiker's Delight course is about 4.5 miles with roughly 1,075 ft of vertical gain and loss. The event is cupless; participants should expect no disposable cups on course.
On-site offerings include a beer garden for those 21 and over, plant-based tacos, sports massage by Vision for Enrichment, finisher medals, free course photography, sponsor giveaways, Long Run Coffee, finish-line announcers and music, same-day results, and professional medical support. Awards include age group prizes, overall podiums for female, male and non-binary finishers, a Local Legend award for the fastest Topanga locals, and a $500 course record bonus for the 10k.
No on-site parking is available on race day. Free off-site parking and shuttles operate from Topanga Canyon Boulevard and Topanga School Road, and the race site is about a 0.6 mile walk from the shuttle drop-off. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
