Ravenna Run the Ravine
Ravenna Run the Ravine is a trail running event held at Ravenna Park, located north of the University District in Seattle, Washington. The event takes place in a forested ravine that features groomed trails and a green natural environment. This race is part of the Tuesday Night Trail to Grill series.
Participants can choose from three different distances, all using the same 4.1 km loop:
- 4k
- 8k
- 12k
The course consists of a loop with approximately 230 feet of elevation gain per lap. The terrain alternates between gently sloping sections and a few steeper pitches as the route travels up and down the ravine. A single aid station is positioned at the start and finish point, allowing runners in the 8k and 12k categories to pass it once or twice during their run. This station provides water, electrolyte drinks, and various snacks such as gels, fruit, and salty foods.
Post-race activities include a social gathering with hot dogs, veggie dogs, and watermelon. Awards are presented to the top three finishers in the Female and Open categories for each distance. Because the parking lot at Ravenna Park is limited to fewer than 30 spaces, attendees may need to use nearby street parking. The event is held on open public trails, and the use of headphones is permitted only if the volume allows for hearing other trail users. Dogs are not allowed on the course.
