Ras Na hEireann 2026

Ras Na hEireann 2026 is a long standing cross country meeting held in Lawlesstown, Dunleer on 8 February 2026. The course is a short 300 m walk from Dunleer AC clubrooms (A92 K7DN), where ample parking will be available on the day.

Juvenile races and entry years include:

  • Boys U9 (born 2018 or after) 400 m
  • Girls U11 (born 2016 or 2017) 1000 m
  • Boys U11 (born 2016 or 2017) 1000 m
  • Girls U13 (born 2014 or 2015) 1600 m
  • Boys U13 (born 2014 or 2015) 1600 m
  • Girls U15 (born 2012 or 2013) 2400 m
  • Boys U15 (born 2012 or 2013) 2400 m
  • Girls U17 (born 2010 or 2011) 3000 m
  • Boys U17 (born 2010 or 2011) 4000 m

Prizes for juvenile races are offered to the first six individuals and the top three teams of four athletes in each race.

Senior races are held in Senior, Junior and Masters categories with teams of four per club. Distances are Ladies 4000 m and Men 6000 m. Senior prizes include the top four male and top three female finishers, first three club teams, the Noel McGuill Cup for the first men team and the Sandra Floyd Cup for the first ladies team.

Ticket information lists juvenile tickets at €5 plus €1 fee and senior tickets at €10 plus €1 fee. Online ticket sales run between 24 November 2025 and 14 February 2026. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.

Trail runs nearby

A new 10K trail run on the Cooley Peninsula at McCrystals Track in Jenkinstown, featuring forest trails, steady climbs, runnable sections and 240 m of elevation. Finishers receive a unique medal and on site parking is available.

Join the Ulster Championship at Slieve Gullion, County Armagh on 7 March 2026 for a testing 6.3 km mountain run with 320 m climb, organised by NIMRA. Expect rugged terrain and mandatory Level B safety kit.

Take on the Pat Dunbar Memorial, a 13 km NIMRA challenge through the scenic Mournes in County Down. Expect moderate terrain and limited course markings for a true mountain running adventure with prizegiving at Carrick Little.

Tackle the Annalong Horseshoe in County Down on 25 April with 21.1 km and 8.5 km options, 1700 m of climb across rugged hills. GPS devices are banned and mandatory safety kit is required, so come prepared for a classic mountain run.
