  • 8.5 miles (Classic)
  • Half Marathon

Entry has an age minimum of 17 on the event date. Entry fees differ by distance and UKA membership status.

Course and logistics

The Classic course runs on estuarine trails through the privately owned Flete Estate and includes a double crossing of the River Erme estuary. The route starts on an estuary slipway, passes through woodland loops, and finishes after a final crossing followed by a steep uphill finish near the SchoolhouseDevon restaurant. The Half Marathon uses sections of the Classic route but omits the two woodland loops and includes a section on the South West Coast Path, returning to the estuary at Wonwell for a final crossing.

The course will be fully marked and marshalled. First aid is provided on course and at HQ. A head torch is mandatory. Dogs are not permitted with runners during the race. There is a 3 hour cut-off related to the second estuary crossing. Each finisher receives a bespoke Race The Light medal. An optional purchase (XCover) is offered for possible refunds in certain unforeseen circumstances. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
