Courses and route

  • 8.5 miles
  • Half Marathon

The Classic 8.5 miles course follows estuarine trails and includes two crossings of the River Erme. The route uses the estuary slipway and passes through sections of the Flete Estate, finishing high above the estuary at the SchoolhouseDevon restaurant with a final steep uphill section. The course can involve wet footing at the estuary crossings and is affected by tidal conditions.

The Half Marathon shares parts of the Classic course but omits two woodland loops. It includes a roughly five-mile section on the South West Coast Path, veers west back to the estuary at Wonwell, and crosses the estuary on the return only. There is a three hour cut-off for the second crossing.

The course will be fully marked and marshalled. First aid is available on course and at headquarters. A head torch is mandatory. Dogs are not permitted with runners during the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
