Event Overview
Race for Open Space takes place at the Cedar Lakes Conservation Foundation's Fox Hill Nature Preserve in West Bend. The event includes a 5K and 10K trail run, a 1-mile trail walk, and a 5K 18 & Under youth event. All proceeds benefit the foundation's work to conserve natural land in the Cedar Lakes region.
The Course
The course features rolling trails through deciduous forest, restored prairie, and glacial moraine terrain. The 10K distance consists of two loops. For safety, the course is not suitable for strollers or dogs. One aid station with water and Gatorade is provided on course, with the same beverages available at the finish line.
Additional Information
Packet pickup starts at 8:00 AM on race day. Results are posted online after the event, with awards for the top overall male and female finishers. A cotton t-shirt is guaranteed for registrations before a specified September deadline. Parking is available at 4214 Sleeping Dragon Rd in West Bend.
