Race for Life Pretty Muddy Windsor

Windsor Pretty Muddy 5k

The Pretty Muddy 5k takes place at Royal Windsor Racecourse, Off Maidenhead Road, Windsor SL4 5JJ. The route runs between the racetrack and the River Thames and includes tarmac, hardstanding, gravel and grass sections.

The start and finish are on grass. Grass sections cannot be avoided and some parts of the course can be quite narrow. In wet weather the ground may become muddy and grass sections may be slippery. The route may experience congestion at the racecourse entry gate and at the far end of the course due to two way sections.

The course features obstacles that require participants to climb, crawl and slide. Starts are organised in staggered waves every 15 minutes. Marshals are present on the course and can assist participants; skipping an obstacle is permitted if needed. The minimum age to take part in this event is 13 years. Pretty Muddy Kids events are available separately for younger children.

Practical information includes a meeting point on the grass opposite the main racecourse buildings, stewards to direct participants from the main carpark, free general parking and blue badge parking close to the event site. Public transport options include bus routes 2, 16 and 8; the nearest train stations are Windsor and Eton Riverside and Windsor and Eton Central, about a 35 minute walk away. Facilities listed as available include refreshments, toilets and parking; dogs are not allowed and the site is not suitable for pushchairs.

Earlybird prices are shown at £11.24 for adults and £6.00 for children. A minimum fundraising target of £50.00 applies. Participants receive a fundraising pack, a customisable back sign, training support and a Race for Life medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
