Reading Pretty Muddy 5k - Prospect Park, Reading

The Reading Pretty Muddy 5k is an obstacle event organised by Cancer Research UK at Prospect Park, Liebenrood Road, Reading RG30 2ND. The course is predominantly on grass and includes steep slopes and sections through woodland. The start and finish are located on a grass field in the centre of the park. Participants will climb, crawl and slide around a sequence of obstacles on the route.

Waves start every 15 minutes to manage flow on the course. Entry is for people aged 13 years and older; separate Pretty Muddy Kids events are offered for younger children. The event is not wheelchair accessible due to the nature of the course and ground conditions can be uneven and may become soft in wet weather. Blue Badge parking is available approximately 50 m from the event site on hardstanding.

Facilities listed for the event include refreshments, toilets and parking. Dogs are not allowed on site. Showers and bag drop are not available and the event is not suitable for pushchairs. Travel options noted include nearby bus routes 1, 143 and 33, Reading West train station about a 15 minute walk, and cycle racks near the artificial pitches. Earlybird prices shown are £11.24 for adults and £6.00 for children and a minimum fundraising target is indicated as £50. Participants receive a fundraising pack, a customisable back sign, training resources and a Race for Life medal on completion. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
