Portsmouth Pretty Muddy 5k

The event is a Pretty Muddy 5k obstacle course held on Southsea Common, Clarence Esplanade, Portsmouth PO5 3NT. The route is described as flat and runs around Southsea Common and Castle Field, taking in views of Ladies Mile. The start and finish are on the grass on the adjacent field to Clarence Esplanade. The course includes obstacles that require climbing, crawling and sliding. Start waves are staggered every 15 minutes.

Participants must be at least 13 years old. Entrants receive a fundraising pack, a customisable back sign, training plans, access to the Race for Life community and a medal on completion. The event has a minimum fundraising target of £50. Earlybird prices shown are £11.24 for adults and £6.00 for children; available offers list a price range of £6.00 to £11.24 GBP.

Facilities available at the site include refreshments and toilets. The site is not wheelchair accessible and is not suitable for pushchairs; dogs are not allowed and there is no bag drop or showers. Blue Badge parking is available on surrounding roads, approximately 300 m from the event site on a path. Road closures affect Avenue de Caen as part of the route. Public transport options serve the area and the nearest train station is Portsmouth & Southsea. In wet weather the grass start and finish areas may become soft or muddy. Trail runs nearby

Trail routes of 12K, 25K and 50K from Queen Elizabeth Country Park across sections of the South Downs Way with waymarking, aid stations and an event village.

A circular 5 mile trail run around Bembridge passing marshes, Centurions Copse and the coastal path, with trophies in veteran categories and a finisher medal for all.

A volunteer run 10 mile multi terrain race across the South Downs with mile markers, two water stations and precision chip timing. Finishers get a unique medal and there is a free kids fun run plus homemade cakes at the pavilion.

Community event at Worthing Rugby Football Club with a mixed-terrain five mile route and a shorter junior loop around the club pitches.
