Edinburgh Pretty Muddy 5k: The Meadows, Edinburgh

The Edinburgh Pretty Muddy 5 km is an obstacle course event taking place on Sunday 21 June 2026 at The Meadows, Melville Drive, Edinburgh EH9 1ND. The route is a single lap that zig zags through the Meadows and includes multiple muddy obstacles that involve climbing, crawling and sliding. The course is mainly on grass, which may be uneven and can become waterlogged; the start and finish are on the grass area to the east of the main pathway (Middle Meadow Walk).

Participants must be 13 years of age or older. Event wave starts are staggered every 15 minutes; groups are advised to register for the same wave. Entry fees listed are Adults £22.49 and Children £12.00 and there is a minimum fundraising target of £50.00. The event is organised by Cancer Research UK and fundraising supports its research activities.

On-site facilities include refreshments and toilets. The event site is not suitable for wheelchair users or pushchairs; dogs are not allowed and there is no parking, designated drop-off area, blue badge parking or electric vehicle charging. Pedestrian access to the park is open and there are bike racks at Middle Meadow Walk. Sunflower wristbands are available at the enquiries marquee, Event Managers are trained Dementia Friends, and a QR code will provide British Sign Language stage content.
