Race for Life Exeter at Westpoint

Race for Life Exeter is a charity running event organised by Cancer Research UK at Westpoint, Clyst St. Mary, Exeter EX5 1DJ on Saturday 17 Jul 2027. Distances available include:

The start and finish are on a tarmac path within the showground. The course uses a mix of road, tarmac pathways and grass, and the 10k route is two laps of the 5k circuit. The start and finish areas are on grass that is slightly sloped and uneven; in wet weather ground and grass sections may become soft, muddy or slippery.

Facilities on site include refreshments, toilets, a bag drop, showers, and wheelchair accessible routes with assistance. The event is not suitable for pushchairs and dogs are not allowed. Chip timing is provided and participants receive a Race for Life medal at the finish.

Parking and access information: general parking and drop off points are available within Westpoint, with Blue Badge parking on hardstanding about 160 m from the event site. There are no electric charging points or cycle racks. Public transport options include bus numbers 9 or 52 from Exeter city centre, with Westpoint as a request stop; the nearest train station is Exeter St David’s, about 6 miles away.

Entry pricing and fundraising: Earlybird fees shown are £8.74 for ages 16 and over, £5.50 for children, and a minimum fundraising target of £50.00. Summer Canal Canter in Tiverton features a flat half marathon, 10 km and 5 km all on the Grand Western Canal Path. The event donates half of its profits to The Friends of The Grand Western Canal and awards a bespoke finisher medal.

Experience a scenic off road run alongside the River Dart in Devon. This community focused event features an 11km main course and a 1 mile fun run with medals for all finishers and a post race BBQ.

Tackle the Sticklepath Horseshoe a 15.5 km fell race over rugged moorland with 519 m climb. Pre entry is limited so book early. Bring map compass and solid navigation skills as this event is not suitable for beginners.

A canal-side lap event in Exeter on 8 August 2026 offering laps of a 5.3 km course with distances from 5 km to ultra marathon, a no medal entry option, and a 7 hour limit. Places are limited to 50 runners.
