Quad Rock 50 & 25
Quad Rock is a pair of trail races held in May 2027 on the trails west of Fort Collins, Colorado, using Lory State Park and Horsetooth Mountain Park. The event offers two distances on predominantly singletrack terrain with substantial elevation change.
- 25 miles : approximately 5,500 ft vertical gain
- 50 miles : approximately 11,000 ft vertical gain (second loop run in reverse)
The course minimum and maximum elevations are 5,444 ft and 7,087 ft, with an average elevation near 6,200 ft. Surface composition is about 85% singletrack and 15% dirt road. The first 25 mile loop runs clockwise from Soldier Canyon; 50 mile entrants complete a second loop in the opposite direction. Wildlife on course includes Abert squirrels, deer, and black bears.
Aid stations are positioned around the course; all full service stations are staffed and stocked, while one Timber station is unmanned and water only and Arthur’s East offers limited aid. Typical supplies include sports drink, gels and bars, water and ice, salty snacks, fruit, sandwiches, hot drinks, and popsicles; gluten free and vegan alternatives are available for most offerings.
The race is capped at 450 entries (200 for 50 miles, 250 for 25 miles). Time allowances are published for each distance. The course is marked with pink flagging and confidence flagging approximately every quarter mile. Portable and park restrooms are available at key trailheads.
