The Quad Rock 50 is a 50-mile trail race held in the hills west of Fort Collins, Colorado. The event takes place on a single-loop course through Lory State Park and Horsetooth Mountain Park. The course consists of two 25-mile loops run in opposite directions, with a total elevation gain exceeding 11,000 feet. The terrain is 85% singletrack trail and 15% dirt road.

The course offers views of the Fort Collins skyline and the Rocky Mountains, with high ridges providing vistas eastward over the Great Plains and westward toward peaks like Longs Peak, approximately 30 miles away. The elevation ranges from 5,444 to 7,087 feet, with an average of about 6,200 feet. Wildlife in the area includes Abert squirrels, deer, and black bears.
Logistics & Support
The race has a participant cap of 200 runners for the 50-mile distance. The maximum time allowance for the 50-mile race is 14 hours, with specific intermediate cut-offs at aid stations. Aid stations are fully stocked with food and drink, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. Drop bags are permitted at designated aid stations. The course is marked with pink flagging and directional arrows.

Registration is managed through a waitlist system. Race entries are non-refundable but may be deferred for credit toward future races organized by the same group under specified conditions. Packet pickup is available the day before the race. Crew access is allowed only at designated aid stations; pacers are not permitted on the course.
