Purbeck Weekend (Studland Dunes and Durlston)

The weekend takes place on 4th and 5th October 2025 on the Isle of Purbeck. The two events are a long distance event at Studland Dunes and a South West Orienteering League event at Durlston Country Park on the west side of Swanage. Entries close 26th September. On Saturday the Blue and Brown courses include an excursion onto Agglestone Heath.

Terrain: Studland is heathland with complex contours and wet slacks marked out of bounds. Durlston is a complex area of thickets on steep slopes down to the cliffs of the Jurassic Coast. Maps: Studland 1:7,500 overprinted; Durlston 1:5,000 overprinted. Timing uses SportIdent with SIAC enabled controls. Facilities: public toilets at both venues, Knoll Beach cafe on Day 1 and Durlston Castle on Day 2. Car parking on Saturday is free to National Trust members or £5 for non-members at the venue; Sunday parking is at event car parks. Entry fees are listed separately for each day and category, with a £2 discount for seniors entered for both days and a £2 non-member supplement for non-British Orienteering members over 21.
