All races start and finish at Bugg Beach. Packet pickup is available the day before and the morning of the event at the start/finish area. The race is a cupless event; all runners must carry a hydration device such as a water bottle or hydration bladder. Aid stations are staffed and provide water, Gatorade, fruit, sandwiches, snacks, soda and electrolyte products. Bathrooms are available near the South D&D and La Villa aid stations. Runners in the 4-mile pass an unmanned water-only aid station.

Pacers are allowed for the 69 and 52 mile distances with limits: a single pacer may be used for the final loop after dark. Drop bags are permitted at the start/finish and for certain aid stations on longer distances. Camping at Bugg Beach is primitive and first-come, first-served. Finishers earn medals or a buckle for the 69 Mile; awards are given by overall and masters categories. The event uses a race-credit refund policy and allows bib transfers under stated conditions.
