Possum's Revenge

Possum's Revenge is a trail running event held in May at the Possum Kingdom Lake Hike and Bike Trail near Bugg Beach in Graford, Texas. The course offers varied terrain and views of Possum Kingdom Lake, including rocks, roots, sand, climbs and flat sections. Each main loop has approximately 1,460 feet of elevation gain.

  • 4 Mile : one modified loop, about 4 miles

All races start and finish at Bugg Beach. The event is cupless; participants must carry a hydration device such as a water bottle or hydration bladder. A reusable collapsible cup is available for purchase at packet pick up. Aid stations provide water, Gatorade and a variety of food items including bananas, oranges, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, potato chips, cookies and soda. Two aid stations have nearby park-managed bathroom facilities.

Pacers are permitted only on the final loop for the 69 mile and 52 mile distances when a runner will complete most of that loop in the dark. Drop bags are allowed at the start/finish and at the South D&D aid station for longer distances and will be returned at race end. Primitive camping at Bugg Beach is first-come, first-served; nearby lodging options are available. Awards include distance-specific finisher medals and a buckle for the 69 mile.
