Pocantico Hills Races
The Pocantico Hills Races take place in the Rockefeller State Preserve, utilizing a network of trails established over a century ago. The event starts and finishes at Rockwood Hall in Tarrytown, New York. This location provides views of the Hudson River and the Palisades.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 26.2 Miles (Marathon) - Available for both runners and walkers.
- 13.1 Miles (Half Marathon) - Available for both runners and walkers.
The courses consist of single-loop routes on wide, groomed carriage roads. These paths lead through varied landscapes including open fields, historic stone walls, and stone bridges. The terrain passes by grazing livestock, rivers, forests, and lakes. There are no paved sections or vehicle traffic on the course.
The event is designed to be walk-friendly with specific time limits in place. For the marathon distance, there is a cutoff at mile 9.5 (Aid Station 3) and another at mile 16.9 (Aid Station 6). Both the marathon and half marathon have a final finish line cutoff. Check-in procedures occur at Rockwood Hall on the morning of the event. Charity registration options are also available, requiring participants to raise a minimum amount for Run Wild, Inc. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
