Event overview

The Pleasant Ridge Backyard Ultra takes place January 31 - February 1, 2026 in Marietta, South Carolina at Pleasant Ridge Camp and Retreat Center (4232 Highway 11). The event is presented by Greenville County Recreation and uses the backyard ultra format: runners complete repeated laps of 4.167 miles, starting each lap on the hour and continuing until only one participant remains who can complete a full lap. If a runner does not complete a lap within the hour or returns after the hour has passed, the result is recorded as DNF. There are no runner categories; all participants start together.

Course, fees and facilities

The course includes sections of the JFA trail and paved paths. Entry fees are listed as $70 until August 31 and $85 after that date. Registration closes January 29, 2026. Early bib pickup and aid station setup are scheduled the day before the race; each runner receives an assigned 10x10 aid station area. Camping is available in assigned 10x10 spaces for registered runners and support crew; restrooms are provided, but no showers, open flames, or grills are permitted. Every runner receives a DNF camp mug; the race winner receives a finisher award. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
