Conquer the Rock 25K & 50K
Conquer the Rock takes place March 6, 2027, at Table Rock State Park in Pickens, South Carolina. The event offers two distances:
- 25K one loop that follows the Bear Crawl route over mountain terrain.
- 50K two laps (Foothills 50K) totaling roughly 16,000 feet of elevation change.
The course is steep and rocky, routing over the summits of Pinnacle and Table Rock. Trails include sustained climbing and technical descents where careful foot placement is required. The 50K includes a firm five hour cutoff at the end of the first lap; runners who miss it are scored as 25K finishers. The overall event time limit is eleven hours.
On-course support includes water-only aid at two loop locations and a fully stocked aid station at mile 15.5 for 50K runners starting their second lap. Post-race offerings include pancakes, music, and an informal finish-area hangout. Live chip timing posts results as runners finish, and free event photos are usually available within 48 to 72 hours.
Logistics note that packet pickup occurs at Pinnacle Pavilion with no proxy pickups, parking is routed to Pinnacle Pavilion, and racers pay a $5 special use permit during registration. Gear check is available at the Barn at Pinnacle Pavilion. Dogs and headphones are permitted, and cell service at the venue is limited.
