Pitsford Water Trail Races

Pitsford Water Trail Races are fully marked and marshaled trail races based at Brixworth Country Park, Northampton Road, Brixworth NN6 9DG. Two distances are offered:

• 10k
• Half Marathon

Both routes leave Brixworth Country Park, cross the dam towards Pitsford and follow trails above Pitsford Water. The 10k drops downhill and crosses the causeway to rejoin the track alongside Pitsford Water back to the country park. The half marathon passes through the villages of Holcot, Hannington, Walgrave, Old and Scaldwell and returns along the track beside Pitsford Water for the final mile. The half marathon route includes a number of stiles between fields.

On-course support includes professional first aid at the start and finish and access to runners on the course. Hydration is provided at three water stations on the half marathon route (miles 3 Holcot, 6.5 Walgrave and 9.5 Scaldwell) and one water station on the 10k route (mile 3 Holcot). Water is also available at the finish.

Entries close seven days before the event. Minimum age on race day is 16 for the 10k and 17 for the half marathon. The race cut off time is four hours for both races. Running with dogs is not permitted. No in-ear headphones are allowed; bone conduction headphones are permitted.

Trail shoes or shoes with grip are advisable. Mandatory items include a fully charged mobile phone with the Race Director and Race Medic numbers for half marathon entrants and a personal cup due to the cupless policy. Prizes are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in both races and all finishers receive a commissioned race medal. Free digital race photos are provided after the event.
