Pitsford Water Trail Races

Event

The Pitsford Water Trail Races are trail running events held at Brixworth Country Park, Northampton Road, Brixworth NN6 9DG. The event offers two distances:

• 10k
• Half Marathon

Entries are priced at £25 for the 10k and £30 for the half marathon. Minimum age on race day is 16 for the 10k and 17 for the half marathon. Entries and transfer of entries close seven days before the event. The race cut-off time is four hours for both distances. Running with dogs is not permitted.

Course and on-course support

Both routes leave Brixworth Country Park, cross the dam towards Pitsford, then follow trails above Pitsford Water towards the village of Holcot. The 10k drops downhill and crosses the causeway to join the track alongside Pitsford Water. The half marathon continues through Holcot and then visits Hannington, Walgrave, Old, and Scaldwell before returning to the water-side track for the final mile. The half marathon route includes a number of stiles between fields.

There will be professional first aid at the start and finish with access to the course. Water stations: three on the half marathon (miles 3, 6.5 and 9.5) and one on the 10k (mile 3). Water is also available at the finish.

Kit, rules and prizes

Trail shoes or shoes with grip are advisable. Mandatory items include a fully charged mobile phone (including the numbers of the Race Director and Race Medic for half marathon entrants) and a personal cup, as races are cupless. No in-ear headphones are allowed; bone-conduction headphones that do not sit in the ears are permitted. Prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each race, and all finishers receive a race medal. Parking is available at Brixworth Country Park (fees apply).
