Pitsford Water Trail Races
The Pitsford Water Trail Races offer two distances on the trails and tracks around Pitsford Water and the Northamptonshire countryside. Both courses start and finish at Brixworth Country Park, taking participants across the dam and onto the surrounding trail networks.
Participants can choose from:
- 10k: A route that crosses the dam towards Pitsford, heads through trails to Holcot, and returns over the causeway alongside the water.
- Half Marathon: An extended course that passes through the local villages of Holcot, Hannington, Walgrave, Old, and Scaldwell before returning to the water's edge for the final mile.
The event features fully marked and marshaled routes. The Half Marathon course includes several stiles between fields to negotiate. A cut-off time of 4 hours applies to both races. For the protection of livestock on farmland, running with dogs is not permitted.
Registered participants have access to water stations along the routes. The 10k includes one station at mile 3, while the Half Marathon features three stations located at miles 3, 6.5, and 9.5. This is a cupless event, so runners are required to bring their own hydration vessel. Mandatory gear for the Half Marathon includes a fully charged mobile phone.
All finishers receive a race medal, and digital race photos are provided after the event. Parking is available at Brixworth Country Park for a fee, with limited alternative parking available by prior booking at Grange Lane. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
