Pitsea RC Crown to Crown : July 2026

Pitsea Running Club stages Race 4 of the Crown to Crown 2026 series, a seven-race measured off road 5K series. The July event is scheduled for 8 July 2026 and uses Westley Heights Country Park for start and finish.

The route is a fully measured 5K, mainly on bridleways with some tarmac sections. The course starts on Beeleigh Avenue, follows Lee Chapel Lane, loops through Essex Wildlife Trust’s Willow Park, and returns to Westley Heights Car Park. Spikes are not suitable because of the tarmac sections.

Entry fees include online processing costs: £2.50 for 18+ runners attached to an England Athletics affiliated club, £4.50 for 18+ unaffiliated runners, and £1.50 for ages 12–17. On-the-day entries are available at the same price. The event will be licenced by the TRA and is held under UK Athletics rules.

Race rules and safety measures include a minimum age restriction in line with England Athletics distance rules, no dogs or pushchairs, no headphones except bone conductive devices, one mass start for all age groups, and gun-to-finish timing rather than chip timing. Course marshals, a tail runner, first aid on course and at the finish, a defibrillator at the finish, and water at the finish are provided.

Parking at the venue is limited; allow extra time and be prepared for a short walk from parking. If the event is cancelled for weather or landowner reasons, entrants will be offered a transfer to a later 2026 race or a refund minus card processing fees.
