Pioneertown Half Marathon and 10K
The event on March 20, 2027 includes a half marathon and a 10K on a rugged, hilly course in the Pioneertown Mountains Preserve near Joshua Tree National Park. The course runs through high desert terrain with views of the Sawtooth Mountains. The elevation at Pioneertown is about 4,400 feet.

Both courses are chip timed for those who wish to race. Participants receive a John Wayne Grit Series shirt in their packet and a finisher mug and finisher shirt at the finish line. Aid and race logistics: the half marathon has four water stations and the 10K has two. The event is cup less; runners should use a handheld bottle or hydration pack since there will be no cups at aid stations. Filled water bottles will be available for finishers. The race awards podium prizes to three female and three male winners for each course. Cancer survivors who register are eligible to receive a complimentary yellow bandana at packet pickup while supplies last.
