The Pinhoti 100 is a point to point 100 mile trail race held in the Talladega National Forest area near Sylacauga, Alabama. The race carries a 32 hour time limit and is organized as a one-way route that finishes at Sylaward Trail Head (Lake Howard).
The course runs over the Pinhoti single track and includes rock sections, creek crossings and ridge lines, and reaches the highest point in Alabama. Course mileage is approximately 83 miles of single track, 17 miles of jeep road and 2 miles of pavement. The start is at Pine Glen Campground in the Choccolocco Wildlife Management Area off FS500.
Logistics and services include packet pickup on Friday November 6th from 3:00pm to 7:00pm CST at the Sylaward Trail Head, drop bag acceptance at packet pickup only, and bus transportation from Sylaward available for a fee. Parking and crew procedures use odd and even vehicle assignments. Primitive camping is available at the finish for a $10 donation; bathrooms are provided but no showers. Restrooms and porta johns are placed at several aid locations.
Registration closes October 17 and an early registration rate applies for a specified period. The event does not offer race day registration, entry transfers, or deferrals; a full refund is available through March 28. Results are posted on Ultrasignup. Awards include top overall, master and grand master places and a buckle for all finishers. The event serves as a Western States qualifier for the following year and is part of the Pinhoti Trail Series. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
